North East & Yorkshire Hobbit League Quarter Two Preview

Luke Bilton09 April 2026

Quarter 1 is done and dusted and what a quarter it was. Now it's time to look ahead, and Quarter 2 is packed. Whether you're a regular on the tournament circuit or just looking to get a few more games in, there's plenty to get involved with across April, May and June.

April

9 April — Peterbowl, Northern Alliance Games, Newcastle NEHL 60 — Kicking off Quarter 2 the only way we know how. Peterbowl is back and as competitive as ever at 60 points, will the Rangers of the North's Thomas be able to win his third Peterbowl in a row?

11 April — The Northern Realms Open, Northern Alliance Games, Newcastle GBHL 80 — Just two days later and we're back at Northern Alliance for a step up in points. Two events in one week in Newcastle, what's not to love!

16 April — Thursday Night Throwdown, Middlesbrough Gamers Club NEHL 60 — The regular Thursday Night Throwdown returns to Middlesbrough. A great shout if you want to test a list in a relaxed setting.

May

10 May — Gondor in 60 Seconds, Middlesbrough Gamers Club GBHL 90 — One of the most popular events in the calendar is back, this time at 90 points. Expect big heroes and bigger armies and even bigger tears from Jordan as his list submission gets denied again.

14 May — Peterbowl, Northern Alliance Games, Newcastle NEHL 60 — Your mid-week Peterbowl fix. Newcastle this time.

21 May — Thursday Night Throwdown, Middlesbrough Gamers Club NEHL 60— The Throwdown returns to Middlesbrough for another evening of great games.

24 May — The Great North Rhûn, Northern Alliance Games, Newcastle GBHL 90 — This one looks like a cracker. A 90 point event at Northern Alliance drawing players from across the region. One to put in the diary now, this event is what started it off for many in the community many years ago and really accelerated the community growth in the North east.

June

6-7 June - Leeds by Example GBHL 90 - Get yourself along to one of the few 2 day events in the calendar, this one shapes up to be quite a competitive event so if you really want to prove your worth make sure you're there.

11 June — Peterbowl, Northern Alliance Games, Newcastle NEHL 60 — Peterbowl keeps on giving. Newcastle again for your June fix.

18 June — Thursday Night Throwdown, Middlesbrough Gamers Club NEHL 60 — Another Throwdown in Middlesbrough to keep the season ticking along nicely.

20 June — A Ranger Caught in Houklt's Yard, Northern Alliance Games, Newcastle GBHL 80 — Rounding out Q2 with what promises to be a brilliant event. A great mix of competitive play and a bit of narrative flavour to close out the quarter.

27 June - Of Dice and Men 2026 GBHL 90 - We return to Ripon for the 8th year of dice and men , but with a new host, smaller venue, and a one dayer!
